Biography

As Director of Communications, Kim Gudeman manages the brands of a group of research labs in the Top 10-ranked Grainger College of Engineering that conduct research in everything from smart cities/battlefields to autonomous systems to cyber secure and cyber resilient critical infrastructure, and more. This effort includes collaborations with Fortune 500 companies such as IBM and Boeing, as well as government agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, DARPA, National Institutes of Health, and more. She is responsible for the strategic planning of marketing efforts for the labs and their many centers and initiatives. To that end, she oversees the print, digital and social media platforms for initiatives that range in topic from cyber security to health robots. Formerly, she worked in health care marketing at Carle Foundation Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center. Prior to that, she was a reporter at the Omaha World-Herald where she covered the business, faith & family and entertainment beats.
